Customized Client-Centered Treatment

Our medically informed, holistic approach to treatment seeks to treat youth in all aspects of their addiction or disorder. At Vista Trails, we look at the overall picture, addressing the environmental, lifestyle, health, educational and psychological aspects to assist in reclaiming a sense of well-being.

Vista Trails prioritizes youth with severe addiction and mental health issues. Our compassionate staff offers prevention, family education, and community support in a loving and respectful environment. The centre is dedicated to employing positive reinforcement approaches within therapeutic models and providing families with tools to support full recovery. The treatment centre aims to address the urgent need for a healing environment, especially for individuals who have not experienced success in less intensive care settings.

The Ontario government and the Ministry of Health have prioritized addictions and mental health as key concerns for Ontarians, integrating them into their ten-year Mental Health & Addictions Strategy. This strategy emphasizes the delivery of high-quality, effective, and culturally competent services for individuals with mild to complex symptoms of mental illnesses or addictions, as well as their families.

Vista Trails aligns with this commitment by offering innovative services in a diverse and culturally competent environment. Our approach goes beyond addressing fragmented issues, providing a fully integrated program to ensure high-quality care. We firmly believe in addressing the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals during addiction treatment. Our dedication to teamwork extends to collaboration with the youth and their families, co-workers, and external agencies and ministries.

Understanding that recovery can be a lifelong process requiring ongoing support, Vista Trails is committed to offering continuous care and coordinating aftercare. Our goal is to empower each individual to enhance their self-confidence, self-worth, and personal growth.

Operating in an inclusive environment that values diversity, our staff is trained and well-versed in cultural competence. We actively encourage and support ongoing staff training to maintain our high standards of care. Our one-stop, intensive approach ensures a cohesive treatment plan, leading to a more promising outcome for recovery. At admission, each youth undergoes a clinical assessment, and a customized, client-centered treatment plan is developed to address their unique needs.

An innovative treatment centre catering to the unique needs of youth facing addictions or concurrent disorders is currently in the early stages of establishment within the Bruce Grey community. With a focus on providing residential treatment services, this facility aims to address the complex challenges faced by youth. Collaborating closely with the Home and Community Care Support Services (HCCSS), the planning and development of this youth treatment centre are well underway. While the primary target population is the youth of Bruce Grey, the centre is poised to extend its services province-wide. What sets this program apart is its intentional integration of a rural setting and a distinctive therapeutic approach, particularly emphasizing human-animal interaction.

In order to keep the business moving Vista Trails has a plan for additional services offerings in the near future e.g. treating pregnant alcohol and/or drug addicted teens. Drug and and/or alcohol addicted mothers and their babies will also be welcome in the Treatment program. Additionally, 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and young people from underrepresented groups will be accepted for addiction and mental health treatment.

Our holistic treatment program is meticulously designed to guide young individuals through the recovery process and reintegrate them into their communities with identified supports, significantly reducing the likelihood of relapse.

Compassionate Support: Vista Trails is driven by the compassion and dedication of our members and staff to meet the needs of youth facing severe addiction and mental health issues. We emphasize prevention, family awareness, education, and community support services in an environment founded on love, care, and respect for the youth we serve.

Intensive Therapeutic Environment:

Vista Trails provides a concentrated therapeutic and residential environment for youth in crisis. As a single-source provider, we offer:

Detoxification services in a secluded natural setting, fostering peer support away from urban distractions.
Intensive individual, group, and family therapy, alongside ongoing psychiatric assessments by our in-house staff psychotherapists and psychiatrists.
Holistic complementary alternative therapies (CATs) and diverse programming, including equine facilitated wellness, yoga, meditation, music, and art.
Access to a Naturopathic Doctor/Acupuncturist as an alternative to medications.

Post-Program Support: Our commitment extends beyond the residential phase. Vista Trails provides full community reintegration support and aftercare through qualified case managers, including transition housing.
